Hi, I'm AmyLou Bogen—an Iowa-born, Arizona-based artist, parent, and perpetual daydreamer

My comics and artwork draw from my working-class roots, my queerness, and my ongoing quest to trust my own guts while navigating life’s chaos as a new-ish parent. Life's  not always just about thrift and survival, but also about embracing the fun + distractions (because, toddler.)

Currently, I'm long-hauling a few graphic novel projects, hand-sewing some soft sculptures and banners, and experimenting more in Linocut and Risograph printing. Occasionally  I attempt to revive my hope of keeping a garden alive in the Phoenix heat and dig back in (it’s more about persistence than perfection, ya know?)

I share my delightfully distracted life with my cute husband, toddler, and rescue dog—who all have been known to make cameos in my work. Being a full-time artist and parent has been my dream since I can remember, and I’m so dang grateful to get to do it!
